Canadian rapper Drake has taken to social media to express his frustration with the handling of Young Thug’s legal proceedings after a leaked jail call surfaced involving Young Thug and his girlfriend Mariah The Scientist.
In a post on his Instagram Story, Drake condemned what he perceived as “jail misconduct” regarding the leaked video clip of the phone call between Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist. The leaked conversation, which emerged on Wednesday, prompted Drake to call into question the integrity of the legal process surrounding Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial.
“This gotta be some form of jail misconduct,” Drake wrote. “You gonna drag this talented man then not be able to control your employees using his personal business for their own gain. Somebody benefited from this video even existing and that’s shameful.”
Drake went on to suggest that the leaked video compromises the fairness of the case and advocated for Young Thug’s release, stating, “Whole case is a wash. Just 3 the guy and let him come home and continue bringing light to Atlanta.”
Adding to the discourse, rapper Meek Mill also weighed in on the controversy, highlighting the seriousness of the situation by calling it “a top-tier lawsuit” and emphasizing that personal calls should not be made public.
The leaked jail call, which circulated online, captured a conversation between Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist expressing affection for each other and discussing a recent gift from Young Thug to Mariah. The origins of the leaked video remain unclear.
Drake’s criticism of the judge presiding over Young Thug’s case underscores the growing concern over the intersection of legal proceedings and privacy rights in the digital age. As the debate unfolds, questions linger about the accountability of those entrusted with upholding justice and safeguarding individuals’ personal information.
