The Nigerian legend is now embarking on a new chapter in his life, centered around becoming a full-time philanthropist. While 2Baba has been actively involved in philanthropy throughout his career, he has now made the decision to devote himself entirely to this noble cause, leaving a lasting impact on society.

2Baba, widely acclaimed as a legendary Nigerian musician, songwriter, and philanthropist, has left an indelible mark on the music industry with hits like “African Queen” and numerous other chart-toppers. However, his talents and interests extend far beyond music, with a deep passion for helping African youths and displaced individuals.

Having achieved stardom as the leader of the Plantashun Boiz in 1999, 2Baba emerged as a prominent figure with the release of his solo debut album, ‘Face 2 Face,’ in 2004. He went on to release albums like ‘Grass 2 Grace’ and ‘The Unstoppable,’ accumulating millions of record sales and receiving numerous local and international awards. Amidst these achievements, 2Baba made a profound commitment to serving humanity.

In 2008, 2Baba established the 2Face Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting peace, unity, and socioeconomic development in Nigeria. The foundation focuses on various areas, including education, health, empowerment, relief intervention, peace-building, and advocacy for good governance. Over the years, 2Baba’s foundation has made a significant impact, improving the lives of countless individuals across the country.

While releasing four albums since 2009, including the critically acclaimed ‘Warriors’ in 2020, 2Baba maintained a parallel focus on his philanthropic work. He became an ambassador for the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in 2009, using his platform to raise awareness about the dangers of fake and sub-standard food and drug products in Nigeria.

In the realm of politics, 2Baba has been extensively involved in electoral participation initiatives in Nigeria. He played a vital role in the ‘Vote Not Fight’ campaign, which aimed to discourage electoral violence and promote peaceful participation in the electoral process. Through this campaign, he collaborated with organizations like the Youngstars Foundation and the National Democratic Institute (NDI) to raise awareness about the importance of peaceful elections.

Recognizing the significance of education, 2Baba has contributed to the improvement of educational institutions, providing scholarships, donating books, and supporting facilities and equipment. His dedication to peaceful elections and political engagement has led him to work on off-season elections in various Nigerian states, consistently encouraging citizens to participate in the democratic process.

Aside from his political engagements, 2Baba has actively supported Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and refugees in Nigeria. He has organized charity concerts, raised funds, and collaborated with other artists to provide relief and support to those affected by natural disasters and conflicts.

With his retirement from music, 2Baba aims to further amplify his efforts in philanthropy, creating a lasting positive impact on Nigerian society. His dedication to social causes, his iconic status in the music industry, and his commitment to peacebuilding and addressing critical issues set him apart as an influential figure making a difference.

As 2Baba begins this new chapter, his legacy as a music legend and philanthropist will continue to inspire and resonate with many, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of people throughout Africa and beyond.
