The Flying Eagles overcame the CECAFA champions 1-0 to advance to the semi-finals and a place in the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2023.
Ogwuche made his debut at the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, filling up for suspended captain Daniel Bamaiyi at the heart of the Flying Eagles defense.

The Trelleborgs of Sweden defense fit in wonderfully, helping to keep the Ugandan strikers at bay.
Ogwuche produced a number of crucial blocks during the game, particularly in the second half.
It remains to be seen whether Ogwuche would be retained in the lineup for the semi-finals.
