2Baba

Nigerian singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist 2Baba was once known as 2face Idibia. He is hailed as one of Africa’s greatest musicians of all time and is recognized for his role in promoting Afro-pop music internationally.

On September 18, 1975, Innocent Ujah Idibia was born in Jos, Nigeria. He got his start in the music industry as a member of the well-known hip-hop/R&B combo Plantashun Boiz in the late 1990s. Before breaking up in 2004, the band had two successful albums published.

Face 2 Face, 2Baba’s first solo album, was released in 2004. The album’s hit track “African Queen” was a major commercial and critical triumph. Since then, 2Baba has put out seven more commercially successful solo albums. He has also received multiple honors, including the 2005 Best African Act MTV Europe Music Award.
