Adams was apprehended at the Jorge Chavez International Airport on 30 September, where authorities discovered 2.9kg of cocaine concealed inside a suitcase he was carrying. The suitcase was originally destined for Paris but was rerouted to London, where the drugs, valued at £300,000, were intercepted.

Adams, a popular online influencer, pleaded guilty to the drug trafficking charge. As part of his sentence, he was fined approximately £1,500. Peru’s Supreme Court, emphasizing the severity of the offense, released an edited image of Adams behind bars on social media after the sentencing.

The arrest sent shockwaves through the online community, as Adams had amassed a significant following on TikTok, where he shared his adventures and experiences with his fans. Just weeks before his arrest, Adams posted pictures of himself exploring the iconic Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage site located in the Andes Mountains, showcasing a stark contrast to his current situation.
