Dietmar Hamann, a Bayern Munich icon, has indicated that Thomas Tuchel will resign as the club’s manager barely two months after taking the post.

The club’s 11th consecutive Bundesliga title win on Saturday was overshadowed by the dismissals of chief executive Kahn and sporting director Salihamidzic barely hours later.

Former Bayern Munich and Liverpool footballer Hamann believes Tuchel, who was only appointed as coach in late March, may also resign, with another analyst claiming it could happen as soon as today.

‘When you treat people like way, you have to question yourself: Do you want to work for this club,’ he remarked on German television.

Tuchel, too, I don’t think can be ruled out very soon. ‘But he’ll depart on his own.’

Erik Meijer, Hamann’s fellow analyst, then added, ‘I suspect he’ll have left the club by Monday.’
On a tense final afternoon, Bayern pipped rivals Borussia Dortmund to another Bundesliga title. Dortmund were held to a 2-2 draw by Mainz in Cologne, with Jamal Musiala’s 89th-minute winner giving Bayern the title on goal difference.

‘Of course, it would be good for things to quiet down and for us to be able to focus on football,’ Tuchel said at Bayern’s title celebration in Munich’s Marienplatz on Sunday.

‘We have a lot of work to do. We need to play faster, better, and more consistently. We aim to get better on all levels. We must return as a group.

‘We want to make sure there’s a family sense and also insulate ourselves from external influences and viewpoints.

‘This is extremely crucial. Only then will we be able to demand anything from the players.’
