Ed Sheeran’s wife, Cherry Seaborn, was diagnosed with a tumor while she was pregnant with their second child, according to the singer-songwriter.

The British singer-songwriter said a series of events at the start of last year impacted his life, his mental health, and the way he views music and art in a diary post that he shared on Twitter on March 1 to reveal the release of his new album.

“Within the space of a month, my pregnant wife got told she had a tumour, with no route for treatment until after the birth. My best friend Jamal, a brother to me, died suddenly, and I found myself in court defending my integrity and career as a songwriter,” he said.

Music businessman Jamal Edwards passed away in February 2022 at the age of 31. In a last Instagram post, he wished his “brother” Ed Sheeran a happy birthday.

Furthermore, Sami Switch, an artist, accused Ed Sheeran of plagiarizing work, and the matter ended up in court. In 2022, Sheeran obtained a victory.

“I was spiralling through fear, depression and anxiety. I felt like I was drowning, head below the surface, looking but not being able to break through for air,” Ed Sheeran wrote.

The artist wrote that he and Cheery Seaborn were “so in love with her, and over the moon to be a family of 4” upon announcing the arrival of their second daughter in May 2022.

About his wife’s condition, he has not made any additional remarks.
