The news of her demise had been kept from the public eye until now.

Reports indicate that Taiga succumbed to kidney disease after a prolonged battle with the illness. She had been accused of accepting bribes from P&ID Limited, a controversy that gained international attention. Taiga’s involvement in the scandal came to light during a London court ruling that annulled an $11 billion award against Nigeria, a case filed by P&ID. Judge Knowles, presiding over the case, declared the award fraudulent and against public policy, implicating Taiga in the process.

Taiga, who had served in the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and Defence, retired from her position on September 1, 2010. Despite her retirement, her name continued to be associated with the high-profile P&ID case, which shook the foundations of Nigeria’s legal and political landscape.

Although Taiga’s passing occurred in September, the news was concealed from the public until now. It has been reported that she will be laid to rest in December in Delta State, her place of origin.

The revelation of Taiga’s death adds a poignant chapter to the intricate tale of the P&ID scandal, leaving many questions unanswered and prompting renewed discussions about the larger implications of the case.
