Raymond Dokpesi, the founder of DAAR Communications, died on Monday after falling while using a treadmill machine, according to a statement from the company.

The statement, issued on Monday and signed by DAAR Communications Group Managing Director Tony Akiotu, indicated that Mr Dokpesi was suffering from an unidentified ailment and needed to conduct routine exercises as part of his recovery.

Mr Akiotu added that the media magnate was sick for several weeks before to the fatal fall, and that Mr Dokpesi was using the machine to exercise before the sad occurrence occurred.

“The board and management of DAAR Communications PLC would like to inform the general public of the death of our founder, High Chief Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi, which occurred today, May 29th, 2023.”

“He’d been sick for a few weeks but was on his way to full recovery.” During a typical gym workout, he fell off his treadmill.

“Further announcement regarding the burial arrangements will be made by the family,” according to the statement.

The deceased was an experienced media mogul who owned television and radio stations. He was 71 years old.
