Korean soprano singer Lee Sang Eun, known by her stage name Lee Tzsche, has tragically passed away at the age of 46. Reports have emerged stating that she was discovered lifeless in a washroom just moments before her scheduled performance at the 33rd Regular Concert of the Gimcheon Municipal Choir. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of her untimely death.

Lee Sang Eun was a highly regarded figure in the Korean entertainment industry, captivating audiences with her remarkable talent. She completed her studies at Seoul National University before pursuing a Master’s degree at the Mannes School of Music in New York.

According to the authorities, the circumstances surrounding her death remain under scrutiny. On Thursday, an event staff member contacted the police at approximately 8:32 PM after finding the singer unconscious. Lee Sang Eun’s lifeless body was discovered in the women’s bathroom on the third floor of the concert venue, Carmina Burana at the Grand Hall of Gimcheon Culture and Art Center, where she was set to perform as part of a commemoration event for cultural exchange between England and Honam, as reported by News 1.

“It was time for Lee Sang Eun to come on stage, but she wasn’t backstage. When I looked in the bathroom, I found her lying on the floor,” a staff member recalled, as quoted by Koreaboo. Urgent medical attention was provided, and she was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. At this point, authorities have not indicated any suspicions of foul play in relation to her passing.

Lee Sang Eun, renowned for her extraordinary soprano voice, possessed a captivating and androgynous appearance that appealed to individuals of all genders. She made her singing debut in 1988 and went on to release 15 full-length albums throughout her illustrious career.

Graduating from the College of Music at Seoul National University, Lee Sang Eun’s passion for music led her to pursue further studies in New York, where she obtained a master’s degree from the prestigious Mannes School of Music.

Throughout her career, Lee Sang Eun received numerous accolades that solidified her position as a leading figure in opera and musical performances both nationally and internationally. Some of her notable albums include “Slow Days,” “Begin,” and “Endless Lay.” Her exceptional talent earned her the “Female Musician of the Year” award at the Korean Music Awards for her albums “Mysteruim” in 2004 and “Romantopia” in 2006. Additionally, she was honored with the “Rookie Artist Award” at the Golden Disc Awards.

The sudden demise of Lee Sang Eun has left the Korean music industry and her fans grieving the loss of a gifted artist who left an indelible mark on the world of music. Her contributions to the field will be remembered and cherished for years to come.
