The confusion arose from a misinterpretation by the rapper’s manager, leading to a premature announcement of his demise.

On November 14, the news of Oladips’ supposed passing spread like wildfire, with a statement from his management expressing deep sorrow over the loss. The statement revealed that the artist had been battling an undisclosed ailment for two years, and his body was with the family. The public was urged to respect the family’s privacy during the challenging time.

However, in an exclusive interview with PUNCH Online’s Tope Alabi, Abdulrasheed Opeyemi, Oladips’ personal assistant, unveiled the truth behind the saga. Abdulrasheed disclosed that the rapper was erroneously declared dead because his manager, who had access to his social media accounts, misinterpreted the situation.

“I don’t know how to say this. It was a misinterpretation with the manager who has access to Oladips’ page. We all thought he was dead because he was not breathing until the third day, when he was revived. By then, the manager had already shared the story. Even I could not reach him until the third day,” explained Abdulrasheed.

The three-day ordeal left fans and the music industry in shock, but Abdulrasheed assured that Oladips is alive and well. When asked about Oladips’s whereabouts during those days, Abdulrasheed responded, “He was with his family.”

In a bold move, the Dipsciples Music outfit, owned by Oladips, has since parted ways with the manager responsible for the premature announcement. Abdulrasheed confirmed the manager’s dismissal and hinted at him addressing the public soon to provide clarity on the entire situation.

Oladips, known for his hit track ‘Chache,’ had ventured into entrepreneurship by launching his own label, Dipsciples Music, after leaving LRR/Edge Records in 2019, which was owned by Nigerian rapper Reminisce. The rapper’s unexpected ‘resurrection’ has sparked a wave of relief and curiosity among fans, eager to hear directly from Oladips about this extraordinary turn of events.
