The GSS examination, designed for first-year students across various faculties, witnessed a surge of students vying for limited spaces in the exam hall. The attempt to secure positions escalated into chaos, resulting in injuries and necessitating urgent medical attention.

Originally slated for Friday, the GSS examination was postponed to Saturday, making it the culmination of the university’s second-semester examinations that commenced on October 16. The decision to shift the exam day seems to have contributed to the heightened tension among students.

Regrettably, the university’s management has chosen not to provide a statement on the incident, leaving many unanswered questions about the circumstances leading to the stampede. As affected students receive medical care, concerns over the management’s silence persist, raising calls for a transparent investigation into the incident and measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
