Viral Video of Mohbad’s Relatives Plotting to Seize His Properties From His Wife In Less Than 24 Hours After His Death

Following the untimely demise of popular Nigerian singer Mohbad at the age of 27 on September 12, 2023, tensions have risen within the family over the singer’s properties. Just hours after his passing, videos began circulating, showcasing preparations for his burial.

In a video recorded in the late singer’s hometown of Ikorodu, a grave was being dug while a group of men engaged in a heated discussion. One elderly gentleman offered a cautionary message, emphasizing the importance of not relying on one’s spouse financially. He stated, “What has happened has happened, but there’s a lesson in this for everybody, all of you standing here need to focus, don’t put your trust in your wives! Listen, we have seen children who die at birth and children who make millions and don’t take it home.”

Others at the burial site expressed discontent about the location of Mohbad’s grave and mentioned his history of purchasing expensive properties.

In another part of the viral video, a young man can be heard discussing the need to seize all of Mohbad’s assets from his wife. In Yoruba, he asserted, “We are going to collect it from his wife, all of Mohbad’s properties, if she doesn’t want trouble. All of Mohbad’s assets with her, she has to drop them.”

Questions about Omowunmi, Mohbad’s wife, arose among the onlookers, including her whereabouts and whether she would attend the burial. Some even suggested that it might be better for her to stay away from the site altogether.

This situation has left many intrigued and concerned about the fate of the late singer’s wealth and the potential legal disputes that may arise as a result.
