The revelations stem from archived material that has surfaced, showcasing Gibson’s participation in sex tape with her husband on the adult streaming platform, Chaturbate. These sessions were publicly accessible on the website Recurbate, after she had declared her candidacy.

Gibson, who launched her campaign in July 2022, seemingly maintained her Chaturbate profile even after entering the political arena. Screenshots revealed her soliciting “tips” from her Chaturbate followers, exceeding 5,770, under the guise of “raising money for a good cause.”

The controversy deepened as Gibson hinted at her “ethically non-monogamous” lifestyle and suggested that she and her husband had “tried swapping” with different partners, although her husband expressed reluctance to share.

Chaturbate’s terms of conditions explicitly state that “requesting or demanding specific acts for tips may result in a ban from the Platform for all parties involved.”

In response to the public revelations, Gibson called the release of these videos “an illegal invasion of my privacy designed to humiliate me and my family.” She further stated, “It won’t intimidate me, and it won’t silence me,” emphasizing her determination to continue her campaign.

Gibson’s attorney, Daniel P. Watkins, argues that the leaked videos violated Virginia’s revenge porn law, citing a 2021 Virginia Appeals Court ruling that deemed it illegal to secretly record a consensual sexual encounter even if the video was not shared with others.
