Amidst his ongoing Young Slime Life RICO trial in Fulton County, Atlanta rapper Young Thug, also known as Jeffery Williams, surprised fans by dropping a fresh album “Business is Business” on Friday despite his confinement.
Titled “Business is Business” Young Thug’s latest album was made available for streaming at midnight EST. Notably, the album boasts collaborations with renowned artists such as Drake, Future, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Lil Uzi Vert, and more. Fans can enjoy the new release on popular platforms like Apple Music and Spotify.
Young Thug has remained in custody since his arrest in May of last year, facing charges of allegedly leading the “Young Slime Life” gang, which claims affiliation with the Bloods.
Maintaining his innocence, Williams confronts a 2018 gang activity charge and a 2013 charge of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.
The ongoing YSL Trial, anticipated to become one of Fulton County’s lengthiest legal proceedings, revolves around the defense’s claim that Young Thug is being unfairly targeted based on his rap lyrics and social media posts, with scant evidence of actual criminal involvement.
Specifically, the Fulton County District Attorney is singling out Young Thug as the supposed “head” of the gang. “He’s the one they’re all afraid of, he’s the one that’s King Slime,” emphasized one prosecutor during a bond hearing.
It remains to be seen whether any of the rap lyrics featured in Young Thug’s newly released album will bear significance during the forthcoming trial or not.
