On March 14, YourFellowArab and a colleague from Haiti were kidnapped by members of the 400 Mawozo gang, putting an end to their great plan to interview the notorious gang leader Jimmy “Barbecue” Chérizier.
The situation swiftly got out of hand, according to the New York Post, when the kidnappers demanded an unbelievable $600,000 ransom to ensure YourFellowArab’s safe release. YourFellowArab’s destiny remained uncertain even after he paid the captors $40,000 in the beginning since they continued to insist on their demands.
Social media was rocked by reports of YourFellowArab’s kidnapping, and fellow content creator Lalem confirmed the alarming situation. Lalem expressed resolve and solidarity while assuring supporters that plans were in place to guarantee YourFellowArab’s release and highlighting his quick return to safety.
