“Cristiano Ronaldo is my very good friend” – Davido

Nigerian artist David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, recently expressed his strong friendship with Portuguese football sensation Cristiano Ronaldo.

The revelation came during Davido’s appearance on the ABTalks podcast, hosted by Anas Bukhash.

Davido, who created history as the first Nigerian artist to perform at the FIFA World Cup final in Qatar last year, criticized individuals who mocked Ronaldo following Portugal’s elimination from the tournament. He passionately defended his friendship with the football icon, stating, “Look at [Cristiano] Ronaldo when he left the World Cup. He is my friend, by the way. He is my very good friend. When he [Ronaldo] left the World Cup, I remember being on the internet, and they [trolls] were abusing him so much, even after everything that he has done.”

Notably, Davido had previously paid tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo in his popular track ‘Fall’ released in 2017. It is worth mentioning that Ronaldo exclusively follows Davido, the sole African artist, on Instagram.
